Terms of Service.

What you can expect from Spike, and what Spike expects from you.

Who can use Spike

Spike is built for high-school students. If you are under 18, you need a parent or guardian’s permission to use it. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials to yourself.

What Spike is, and is not

Spike is a guidance tool. It is not a guarantee of admission to any college, and it is not a substitute for your school counselor, a licensed advisor, or professional financial advice.

Spike uses AI, and AI gets things wrong. Deadlines, requirements, costs, and policies change. Verify anything that matters against the college’s own website before you rely on it.

Your work stays yours

Essays, activity descriptions, and everything else you write in Spike belong to you. You grant us only the permission needed to store your work and to operate the features you use.

Academic honesty

Spike is designed to coach your writing, not to write for you. Submitting work you did not write as your own may violate a college’s application rules, and that responsibility is yours.

Using it fairly

Do not share your account, resell access, attempt to break or scrape the service, or use Spike to harass anyone or to break the law.

Plans and payment

Spike is free to start. Paid plans are billed monthly, renew until you cancel, and can be canceled at any time, with access continuing through the period you have paid for.

Ending your account

You can stop using Spike and ask us to delete your account whenever you want. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
